News and Announcements

Bow Athletic Club is now accepting registrations for our 2018-19 youth basketball program. The program is open to Bow and Dunbarton residents in 1st grade through high school. Evaluations of players begin as early as Sunday 10/14/18, so do not wait to register. Registration to close October 13th. Failure to register before that date will result in a $25 late fee (if space is available). To register go to: http://bowathleticclub.siplay.com/site/ and for more information, visit our website at: http://www.bowathleticclub.com or contact Bryce Larrabee (bryce_larrabee@trg.com).

At http://www.bowathleticclub.com you should be able to find under the “Basketball” Tab everything you could ever wanted to know about BAC basketball including general information, frequently asked questions (which is very detailed), camps and clinics, etc.

Reminder -

BAC will be hosting free basketball skills and drills at Bow Memorial School (BMS) on Sunday nights (9/9, 9/16, 9/23 & 9/30). The girls (grades 3 through 8) will be from 5 to 6 pm at BMS, while the boys (also grades 3 through 8) will be 6 to 7 pm. There is no sign up for these events and players merely need to show up ready to play.

Players must bring their own basketball, sneakers and water bottle. Mouth guards are optional.

Typically, we will have several different stations that we will rotate the players through with an emphasis on developing or enhancing basic basketball skills (e.g. dribbling, rebounding, form shooting, passing, etc.). We will not scrimmage

IT IS TIME TO START SWINGING FOR THE FENCE!

Please join us for our 3rd Annual Home Run Derby on Saturday, June 2nd at 4pm at Gergler Field in Bow where each division of home run hitters will be awarded with the sought after pink wooden bat!

This event has such a great community showing that we are onto year #3 and cannot wait to see all of you there. Please grab your neighbors, family, and friends and join us for some dinner while also hitting cancer out of the ball park!

For 2018 we will have 4 divisions:

Ages 10 and under
Ages 11 – 14
Women’s Division
High School and Adult Division
Prizes will be awarded to each division and thanks to the Bow Rotary Club we will once again have the grill going! We just ask that you please RSVP for this event so we can plan accordingly!

Cost to enter is $10.00 for participants 10 years old and under and $20.00 for all others.

All money raised through this event will be donated to two causes this year. We will continue our support of Breast Cancer patients in our community by donating to the Helping Hands Fund at the Concord Hospital Payson Center where funds for gas, medications, food, etc. are made available immediately to those needing a little extra help. For tax deduction purposes Checks can be made payable to Concord Hospital Trust and in the memo line add “Lend them a hand fund”

Our 2nd donation will be made towards the Kristen Evans Memorial Scholarship. Kristen Evans lost her battle with cancer this year and in honor of Kristen her family has set up a scholarship that will be rewarded to a Bow High School senior. The criteria for this candidate is not based on academics but is based on kindness and what the student has done for our community. Kristen was one of the most kind, caring and giving members of our community and this scholarship is a great way to help remember the person she was.

Cancer has touched many of our lives and the success of this event will hopefully make those currently fighting the battle feel supported.

Please share this invite, spread the word and get the RSVP’s rolling in as we take a swing against Cancer!
